The Labour Department, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh on September 28, 2026, notified the Cost of Living Index Numbers applicable to the Employees Employed in the Scheduled Employments as on October 01, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The notification declares the Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers applicable to State Industrial Workers and State Agricultural Workers for determining the Cost of Living Allowance. The CPI numbers are specified separately for the scheduled employments listed in Part I and Part II of the Schedule and are stated to come into force from October 1, 2026.
• The notification provides revised CPI numbers for various scheduled employments, including factories, engineering works, baking, brick kilns, cement products, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, cinema, building operations, cashew processing and other notified employments. It also specifies the corresponding Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) linked to the applicable CPI numbers.
